Russia hits Ukrainian energy and logistics facilities in extensive air strike

The Russian Defence Ministry announced a large‑scale air operation that targeted Ukraine's critical energy and transport infrastructure. The strikes hit logistics centres, military airfields, UAV production and spare‑parts sites, and temporary bases used by Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries. The ministry said 149 locations were hit and 1,470 Ukrainian soldiers were neutralised.

Russian air‑defence forces also reported shooting down nine guided bombs, a Neptune‑MD long‑range missile and 282 drones. In a separate commentary, Russian military analyst Aleksey Leonkov argued that Ukraine's air‑defence systems cannot repel such attacks because they lack modern high‑quality interceptors, noting the apparent failure of Patriot missiles and suggesting they may be obsolete.
