Ukraine offers Moscow ceasefire amid intensifying Russian aerial strikes
Ukraine has announced its readiness to observe a temporary ceasefire on airstrikes against Russian cities, specifically Moscow, through the end of Monday. This move follows high-level discussions in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Kremlin officials described the talks as substantive and constructive, noting that discussions also touched upon economic cooperation and potential large-scale US-Russia projects.
Amid these diplomatic efforts, the conflict remains intense. Russia has escalated its bombing campaign, targeting Ukrainian energy and transportation infrastructure with precision strikes and FAB bombs, notably hitting power plants in Odessa and Kherson. A Russian drone strike also reportedly targeted the SBU headquarters in Kyiv.
Ukrainian defense experts have warned of a looming humanitarian crisis this winter, as Russia continues to produce over 100 high-speed ballistic missiles per month. In response, Ukraine is planning to scale up its own deep-strike drone operations to target Russian military and economic assets.
