Russia intensifies attacks on Ukraine with drones and missiles

Russia has launched massive aerial attacks against Ukraine, utilizing a combination of drones and high-precision missiles. During a recent overnight operation, the Ukrainian Air Force reported 135 Russian drones. The strikes targeted various regions, including Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Poltava, as well as military-industrial facilities and logistics hubs in Kyiv. The missile barrage included approximately 12 Zircon hypersonic missiles, 8 Iskander-M missiles, and 8 Kalibr missiles.

In addition to direct strikes, analysts report that Russia is deploying a new, low-cost missile known as the 'Banderol.' This weapon is designed with a smaller warhead to intentionally exhaust Ukraine’s limited and expensive Western air defense interceptors. Meanwhile, military experts note that Russia is rapidly scaling its drone production, with plans to produce over 15 million drones and related ammunition by 2026.

On the industrial front, the construction of a strategic Fire Point plant in Denmark, intended to produce solid fuel for long-range missiles, has been delayed until the end of 2027. The project's budget has reportedly increased from 50 million euros to over 150 million euros due to infrastructure requirements and bureaucratic challenges.
