Russia launches massive rocket and drone strikes on Ukraine, killing at least ten civilians

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian forces carried out intensive air attacks in the past week, launching 95 rockets—more than half ballistic—and approximately 1,700 drones, plus over 1,630 air‑bombs against targets across Ukraine. The latest night raid recorded eight rockets and 136 drones hitting regions including Kyiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv. Zelensky reported three people injured in Kyiv, one fatality and nine injured (including two children) in Kharkiv, and ongoing rescue work after a hypermarket fire in Kryvyi Rih.

Separately, Ukrainian officials said at least ten civilians were killed in attacks on Sumy, Donetsk and Kharkiv oblasts during the same 24‑hour period. Three postal workers died in Sumy, six civilians were killed in Donetsk (including five in Sloviansk from two aerial bombs), and one person died in Kharkiv, with dozens more wounded. Ukraine's air defence claimed to have downed 127 drones and an H‑59/69 winged missile.

The incidents prompted renewed calls for faster delivery of air‑defence systems from Western allies.
