Ukrainian air defenses reported intercepting two ballistic missiles overnight, though officials noted a critical shortage of U.S.-made Patriot interceptors. The use of new jet-powered drones, which fly at higher speeds and altitudes, has presented a significant challenge to existing ground-based defense systems.

Beyond the capital, strikes also impacted the Odesa region, hitting port infrastructure and an electrical substation, and the Ternopil region, which was targeted by a jet-powered drone. The escalation comes as winter approaches, increasing the strategic importance of energy and utility infrastructure.
