Russia launches widespread aerial attacks across Ukraine

Russia launched a massive wave of aerial attacks across Ukraine, targeting civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and commercial hubs. In Kharkiv, a guided bomb struck a multi-story residential building, injuring at least 22 people, including children. In the Kyiv region, strikes on a food market in Stolichny resulted in deaths and fires, while a drone attack on a market in Sofiiska Borshchahivka killed two people.

Beyond the capital, damage was reported to a telecommunications headquarters (Kyivstar), a factory in Zhytomyr, and a vessel flying the flag of Palau in the Odesa region. Other regions, including Sumy, Rivne, Vinnytsia, and Zaporizhzhia, also reported hits on critical infrastructure and residential areas. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized the strikes as pure terrorism intended to break society rather than achieve military objectives.

In response to the escalating violence, Zelenskyy has called for strengthened air defenses, increased financial support, and new international sanctions targeting Russian financial networks and arms supply chains. He accused Moscow of using deceptive diplomatic signals to delay these sanctions while intensifying battlefield violence.
