The Kremlin has declared the potential deployment of NATO military contingents in Ukraine to be unacceptable. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia has repeatedly expressed this position at various levels, noting that the proposed deployment by the Coalition of the Willing is inadmissible.

The Coalition of the Willing, which recently held a meeting in Kyiv, reaffirmed its intention to prepare a Multinational Force Ukraine. This force is intended to be deployed following a credible cessation of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.

In a separate development, the European Commission approved 6.1 billion euros in new defence procurement for Ukraine. This funding, part of a larger 90-billion-euro support loan for 2026 and 2027, is designated for air defence systems, missiles, ammunition, and radars. The move aims to accelerate deliveries to counter Russia’s increased use of ballistic missiles and drones.
