Russia says it hit Kyiv warehouses and Black Sea cargo ships

Russia's defence ministry announced that overnight it struck seven storage and distribution centres in Kyiv and the surrounding region, saying they held dual‑use goods, political and military items and components for unmanned systems. The ministry also claimed three cargo vessels south of Odesa port in the Black Sea were hit, alleging they were transporting weapons and military equipment for the Ukrainian army.

Ukrainian officials reported at least 17 deaths from the attacks. Reuters could not verify the Russian claims about the nature of the stored products. Russia added that it used ground‑to‑ground missiles and large‑range attack drones in the strikes. The report noted that Ukrainian drones have since attacked at least 20 warehouses belonging to the Russian e‑commerce firm Wildberries, and Russian oil refineries have also been targeted.

The incident is part of the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine conflict, with both sides accusing each other of escalating attacks on logistical and commercial infrastructure.
