Russia says it upholds Alaska summit points in Ukraine peace talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow remains committed to the points reached at the August 2023 summit in Alaska between President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump, referring to the so‑called “spirit of Anchorage.” He called for clarification of the United States’ mediating role, noting that the U.S. continues to sell weapons and provide technological support to Ukraine.

Lavrov also mentioned that diplomatic contacts with U.S. envoys Steve Witkowski and Jarrad Kusner have been delayed as they focus on Middle‑East issues, including the recent U.S.‑Israel war against Iran. He said Moscow is grateful for the American efforts and expects further talks when the envoys become available.
