Russia to host Africa Summit in Moscow amid infrastructure security concerns
The third Russia-Africa Summit is scheduled to take place in Moscow on October 28-29. According to Tatiana Dovgalenko of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the summit's agenda will prioritize trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two regions.
However, the upcoming gathering faces scrutiny regarding Russia's ability to provide strategic stability. Recent drone strikes targeting Yandex data centres in the Ryazan, Kaluga, and Vladimir regions have caused disruptions to essential digital services, including payment systems, navigation, and cloud computing. These incidents have raised questions about the security of Russia's technological infrastructure as the Kremlin seeks to demonstrate its influence and reliability to African leaders.
