Russia-Ukraine war escalates with Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian sites and Russian missile attack on Kyiv

Ukrainian drones struck multiple Russian facilities, including a refinery, two Baltic ports, an oil terminal in Kerch, an industrial plant in Dzerzhinsk, and an energy substation. Russian officials said there were no casualties, but the attacks caused power outages in Crimea and the closure of the Kerch bridge, while airports in European Russia operated on an emergency basis. Ukraine released coordinates of the hits, and Moscow described the strikes as terrorist attacks on civilian targets.

In response, Russia launched a ballistic‑missile barrage on Kyiv that ignited fires at warehouses and a non‑residential building in the city's left‑bank district. No civilian deaths were reported, but an air‑raid alarm was sounded across numerous Ukrainian regions. A separate missile strike on Odessa injured nine people, set fire to a production facility and damaged several vehicles.
