Russia-Ukraine war: Massive drone strikes hit cities and logistics hubs

Russia launched a large-scale combined aerial attack against Ukraine, deploying 143 Shahed drones, Oniks anti-ship missiles, and various guided aerial missiles. Ukrainian air defenses reported intercepting 114 drones and several missiles. The strikes impacted multiple regions, including the Odesa region and Chernihiv, where a drone strike on an apartment building injured 20 people.

In response, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted Russian logistics infrastructure. Significant fires broke out at Ozon logistics centers in the Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, and Dagestan. A major facility in Dagestan, covering approximately 130,000 square meters and serving as a vital hub for the North Caucasus and connections to Iran and Azerbaijan, was heavily affected. Following these strikes, shares of the company Ozon fell by nearly one-third.

On the ground, intense fighting continues, with the Ukrainian General Staff recording 231 combat engagements on August 23. Heavy pressure remains concentrated in the direction of Kostiantynivka.
