Russian air defenses down 415 Ukrainian drones; Odesa strike injures 10

Russia’s air defence forces reported intercepting and destroying 415 Ukrainian drone aircraft of the fixed‑wing type during the night of 7–8 July. The interceptions occurred over a wide swath of Russian territory, including the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Vologda, Voronezh, Vladimir, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov and Tula regions, as well as the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Tatarstan, and over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas. The Russian Ministry of Defence also said drones were downed over the annexed Crimean peninsula.

In separate attacks, a Russian missile strike hit the Ukrainian city of Odesa, raising the number of injured to ten. Among the wounded were three women; eight people were hospitalised with shrapnel and cut injuries, and doctors described one case as serious. The strike caused material damage to infrastructure in the Izmail district.
