Russian airstrikes cause civilian deaths across Ukrainian cities

Russian forces reported the capture of Sevsk and advance on five of six frontlines in Ukraine, claiming more than 1,340 Ukrainian soldiers killed or severely wounded. The strikes destroyed multiple logistical hubs, drone‑assembly sites, fuel and energy infrastructure and damaged armored vehicles, guided bombs, HIMARS rockets and hundreds of drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced the attacks as "ballistic terror," citing heavy civilian casualties in several cities. In Kharkiv, a Russian circling missile hit a residential building killing a 40‑year‑old woman and wounding nine, including a ten‑year‑old boy. Kyiv suffered strikes from ballistic rockets that injured at least three people and ignited fires in several districts. In Zaporizhzhia, a glide bomb struck a gas station, setting a car ablaze. Civilian deaths reported in Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and other regions total dozens, with many children among the injured.
