Russian attacks trigger German security alert and deadly Kyiv strikes

Germany’s interior minister Alexander Dobrindt announced an extraordinary security alert after a drone equipped with a PETN explosive was discovered on the southern runway area of Leipzig Airport, a key NATO logistics hub. Authorities suspect the device was part of a hybrid‑warfare operation possibly linked to a foreign state, with Russian involvement widely inferred.

In Ukraine, Russian rocket fire hit the outskirts of Kyiv, killing 14 people and wounding 28. The strikes damaged several warehouse buildings and added to the ongoing wave of attacks on the capital.
