Kyiv hit by Russian ballistic missile strikes

Russian forces launched a series of ballistic missile attacks against Kyiv, resulting in at least one death and multiple injuries. Local officials reported that the strikes, which began late Thursday night, caused significant damage to residential buildings, administrative offices, and critical infrastructure.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the Pivdennyi (South) Bridge was damaged, leading to a suspension of train transit. The attacks also impacted metro infrastructure and caused fires in warehouses on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Additionally, explosions were reported in the Podilskyi and Obolon districts.

President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted that the missiles struck densely populated areas, including a university complex, Kyoto Park, and medical facilities. The shockwaves from the explosions damaged two healthcare centers in the Dniprovskyi district, shattering windows in intensive care units and patient rooms, though no medical staff or patients were reported injured in those specific incidents.
