US diplomat Marco Rubio rejects funding Iran reconstruction fund
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is prepared to pursue a constructive dialogue with Iran but will not provide money for the proposed Iranian reconstruction fund. He stressed that any agreement must be real and verifiable and that the United States will not finance the fund.
Rubio added that the United States will safeguard the security of its Gulf allies, insisting that any deal must not endanger their stability. He noted that President Donald Trump had recently dismissed reports of a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran, reinforcing the administration’s stance against funding the initiative.
