Russian drones strike SOCAR fuel depot in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region

On the evening of 5 July, Russian Armed Forces launched a drone strike on the SOCAR fuel‑filling station in the village of Nechayane, Mykolaiv (Nikolayev) oblast, Ukraine. Three Shahed‑type unmanned aerial vehicles hit the site, causing an explosion and damage to the administrative building.

SOCAR Energy Ukraine confirmed that all personnel were in a shelter at the time, so no one was injured. The company said that preventive safety measures and shelter use averted heavier losses. The attack follows a series of recent Russian UAV strikes on SOCAR facilities in Ukraine, including a fire at an oil depot in Odessa on 8 August and damage to two fuel stations in Zhytomyr region last summer.
