Afipsky oil refinery hit by drone attack in southern Russia FAST-MOVING

A Ukrainian drone attack targeted the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region, causing a large fire at the facility. The refinery is one of the largest in southern Russia, processing approximately 6.25 million tons of crude oil annually, which represents about 2 percent of Russia's total refining capacity.

Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratiev reported that drone debris struck a railway station in Afipsky, resulting in two deaths and two injuries. Additionally, ten homes in the village of Afipsky were damaged. Air raid sirens were activated throughout the region during the strike.

Simultaneously, Russian air defenses were reported active near the Novoshakhtinsk refinery in the Rostov region, though no damage was immediately confirmed there. In separate escalations, Russian missile and drone strikes hit several Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv, where one person was killed, and Zaporizhzhia, where two people died from a bomb strike.
