Russian forces intensify multi‑direction assault on Konstantynivka

Russian troops have reached the outskirts of Konstantynivka in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, attacking from the east, south and west and pushing into the city. Analysts from the Ukrainian intelligence group DeepState say the battle follows the “worst‑case” scenario seen earlier at Pokrovsk, with Russian infantry outnumbering Ukrainian defenders and employing heavy artillery and drone strikes.

The capture of Konstantynivka is viewed as a “gate” to the larger Slavyansk‑Kramatorsk agglomeration. DeepState warns that if the town falls – which it describes as “a matter of time” – Russian forces will likely move on the nearby logistical hub Druzhkivka and then on Kramatorsk, threatening Ukrainian supply lines and enabling deeper advances toward the industrial heartland of eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian units continue to resist, despite reported Russian casualties and the strain of urban fighting. The fighting remains intense, with street‑by‑street combat and infiltration into residential areas.
