Russia consolidates control of Konstantinovka

Overview

The Russian claim that Konstantinovka in Donetsk Oblast was seized in early July has been reinforced. On 6 July, Russian officials announced the town’s capture, describing it as a fortified industrial hub, while Ukrainian leaders, including Kyrylo Budanov, continued to reject the claim, emphasizing that Ukraine will not cede territory and that any de‑escalation talks must be preceded by a halt to further escalation.
