Russian Forces Claim Liberation of Volnovoy and Linna Towns in Ukraine
The Russian Defence Ministry announced that its troops have liberated the town of Volnovoy in Dnipropetrovsk region, saying they made progress on all fronts of the special military operation. The statement reported around 200 Ukrainian soldiers killed, as well as loss of combat vehicles, field guns and an American‑made AN/TPQ‑36 radar, alongside the downing of two "Neptune‑MD" missiles, eight guided bombs, one Himer missile, and 678 Ukrainian drones.
In a separate statement, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov said Russian forces had taken control of the town of Linna (Mernoy) and continued liberating Shyftchenko, Krasnoiarivsk, and Svitlovodsk. He described further advances by the "Center" group north of Krasnoiarivsk and combat in the Dubrovole and Anofka areas, noting cooperation among several Russian army groups in the Donetsk People's Republic region.
