Russian glide‑bomb kills child, injures dozens in Sumy
A Russian glide‑bomb attack struck the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, killing at least four people, including a school‑aged girl, and wounding 17 others. The bombs hit a bus stop in the Zarichnyi district, creating a large crater and destroying a small bus, as reported by the city mayor Artem Kobsar and the regional military administration head Oleh Hryhorow.
Other recent Russian strikes in Ukraine caused civilian casualties as well. In Odessa, a missile hit the port, killing two truck drivers and injuring another person. In the Russian‑controlled Donetsk People's Republic, a Ukrainian drone hit a civilian car, killing the driver and wounding 14 others, while a nearby bus was also struck, adding to the total of 15 injured in the region.
These attacks are part of an intensified wave of Russian aerial operations that have used drones, cruise missiles and glide‑bombs against civilian targets across Ukraine, prompting calls for increased air‑defence capabilities and international condemnation.
