Russian man found dead in Phuket condominium

A 43-year-old Russian man, identified as Maxim Tarasov, was found dead in a bedroom at The Scene Condominium in the Kathu district of Phuket, Thailand. Authorities were alerted to the discovery at approximately 9 p.m. on August 30.

Investigators found the body lying face down beside a bed. An initial examination by police and forensic doctors indicated that there were no signs of a struggle and that the man’s personal belongings and valuables remained untouched in the room. A forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital estimated that Tarasov had been dead for approximately three days prior to being found.

The exact cause of death is currently unknown. The body has been transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a detailed autopsy to determine the circumstances of the death. Local police intend to coordinate with the Russian Embassy to notify the man’s relatives and assist with arrangements for his remains.
