Kyiv missile strike kills two, drone attack kills four in Horlivka

Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv early on Sunday, igniting fires in a tower block and wounding at least three civilians; two people were killed in the capital. The same wave of attacks later caused additional civilian deaths in other parts of Ukraine, bringing the total to at least two more fatalities. In the Russian‑occupied eastern city of Horlivka, a Ukrainian drone strike killed four civilians, according to the Kremlin‑installed mayor. Russia said its air defence downed 133 Ukrainian drones over Russia, the Black Sea and Crimea overnight. Separate incidents were reported in Kharkiv, where one person was killed and twelve injured in a drone attack, and in Zaporizhzhia, where a glide‑bomb strike killed one civilian and wounded six. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described a fire that broke out on the seventh and eighth floors of a multi‑storey apartment building after the missile impact. President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Friday that further Russian attacks were likely within the next 48 hours.
