Russian officials linked to luxury property developments and transfers
Investigations have revealed significant luxury property developments and transfers involving high-ranking Russian officials. In Sochi, construction is nearing completion on a luxury villa belonging to Vladimir Putin. The project, involving the demolition of the former ‘Bocharov Ruchey’ residence, has seen individual contract values ranging from approximately 940,000 to 5.2 million euros. Reports suggest the work is being coordinated by the Federal Protective Service (FSO) through a consortium linked to oligarch Arkadi Rotenberg. The demolition of the original 1955 structure is reportedly linked to security concerns regarding Ukrainian drone attacks.
Separately, Ella Pamfilova, the head of Russia’s Central Election Commission, was granted a 237-square-meter apartment in central Moscow valued at approximately 2.35 million dollars. The property was provided to her for free by the state in June 2024, shortly after the presidential election in which Vladimir Putin received 87.28% of the vote. According to investigations by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), the apartment was subsequently transferred to the name of Pamfilova’s 24-year-old niece, Irina Kezina. The FBK suggests the residence serves as a reward for Pamfilova’s role in managing the electoral system.
