Russian oil refineries struck by Ukrainian-reported drone attacks

Ukraine’s Security Service said that, during the night, long‑range drones attacked two major Russian oil refineries – the Lukoil plant in the Perm region and the refinery in the Rjazan area. The strikes ignited a fire in a primary crude‑processing unit at the Perm facility, which processes about 13 million tonnes of oil a year and is a key source of revenue for the Russian war economy. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attacks also hit a logistics centre near the Rjazan refinery, a Black Sea Fleet base in occupied Crimea and a Rosatom export terminal.

In a separate incident, Russian drone raids on Ukraine’s southern Herszon region killed a 67‑year‑old civilian and injured three others, damaging several residential buildings and a service station. Additional drone attacks targeted two fuel stations in northern Ukraine’s Sumy region, though no injuries were reported there. Ukrainian air‑defence forces intercepted dozens of drones across the country, with the Russian defence ministry claiming it shot down 295 Ukrainian drones and reported its own drone‑carried attacks on targets near Odessa and the port of Mykolaiv.
