Russian 'safari' drone strikes target civilians in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine

In the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces have intensified attacks on civilians using first‑person‑view (FPV) drones loaded with explosives, a tactic locals describe as a “safari”. The strikes hit Kateryna Lahuta’s seafood business, destroying the facility and driving customers away, while the city’s residents endure daily danger from drones and glide bombs.

Governor Ivan Fedorov said the attacks are intended to create maximum pressure on the civilian population and sow panic. The city of about 700,000 people, situated near a narrow corridor where Russian troops have stalled, has seen a new wave of air‑war activity as Moscow seeks to damage infrastructure and undermine public morale.
