Russian strike destroys Samsung‑Ukraine drone manufacturing plant in Kyiv
Russian forces carried out a night strike on Ukrainian defence‑industry facilities in Kyiv, targeting the Samsung‑Ukraine plant that produced components for the FP‑5 Flamingo maneuverable UAVs and a separate drone‑assembly workshop. The attack destroyed the industrial site and a workshop used for assembling medium‑ and long‑range drones.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that in the past 24 hours more than 1,450 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or seriously wounded, and it listed numerous targets including energy and transport infrastructure, drone storage, assembly and launch sites, and air‑defence systems. It also claimed to have shot down 415 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and the Black Sea, and to have intercepted two Russian citizens in Crimea for alleged espionage.
The strike marks a significant blow to Ukraine’s domestic drone production capacity and highlights the ongoing intensity of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
