Russian tourists remain Antalya's top market despite overall decline

According to the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, total arrivals in July fell 2.4% year‑on‑year to 2,657,979 visitors. For the January‑July period, the total foreign‑tourist count dropped 7% to 8,359,222, reflecting a loss of about 632,000 travelers compared with the same period last year.

Russian visitors increased by 7% in July, reaching 665,865, and remained the leading source market. Over the first seven months, 1,979,000 Russian tourists visited Antalya, representing 25.5% of all arrivals, despite a 2.4% overall decline for that group.

Germany stayed the second‑largest market with 1,615,000 visitors (20.8% share), while the United Kingdom ranked third with 773,000 arrivals (9.9%). Turkish expatriates accounted for 144,643 guests. Officials cited the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine conflict and the Iran‑US‑Israel war as factors dampening tourism from the Commonwealth of Independent States and other regions.
