Russian tourists to Vietnam surge 186% in first half

Vietnam saw a sharp rise in visitors from Russia in the first six months of the year, with arrivals reaching roughly 743,000 – an increase of about 186% compared with the same period last year. This makes Russia the third‑largest source market for Vietnamese tourism, after China and South Korea, and the fastest‑growing among the top ten international sources.

Total international arrivals to Vietnam climbed to more than 12.2 million, up 14.9% year‑on‑year. The surge is driven by the reopening and expansion of direct flights from Moscow and other Russian cities to destinations such as Cam Ranh, Da Nang and Phú Quốc, as well as relatively low travel costs and improving service quality. Russian guests typically stay 7‑21 nights, spending heavily on beach resorts, spa services, seafood and cultural experiences. Popular Vietnamese spots for these visitors include Nha Trang‑Cam Ranh, Phú Quốc, Da Năng‑Hội An and Phan Thiết‑Mũi Né.
