Ruta a Cuba donates solar panels to Havana cultural institutions

The Italian movement Ruta a Cuba has delivered a solidarity shipment of solar panels to cultural institutions in Havana. The initiative, titled ‘Energía para la Vida, encendamos la luz en Cuba’ (Energy for Life, let us turn on the light in Cuba), was organized by various Italian political organizations and civil society groups to support educational, hospital, and cultural facilities in Cuba.

Martha Figueredo, president of the National Council of Houses of Culture, stated that the installation of these photovoltaic systems will aid cultural development in both institutional and community settings. During the event, Italian representatives, including Emanuela Monza of the National Partisan Association of Italy and members of the Five Star Movement (M5S), emphasized their commitment to the Cuban people.

Stefania Ascari, an M5S deputy, criticized the Italian government's stance regarding the embargo against Cuba, while Arnaldo Lomuti, also an M5S deputy, highlighted the historically solid ties between Italy and the Caribbean nation.
