Ryan Gosling to star in Star Wars: Starfighter

Ryan Gosling is set to star in the upcoming Lucasfilm production, ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’, scheduled for release in May 2027. The film is positioned as a major cinematic venture for the franchise, set five years after the events of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’.

Director Shawn Levy has praised Gosling’s versatility, noting that the actor is uniquely suited for the film’s blend of romance, comedy, drama, and action. Levy described the collaboration as a professional brotherhood, highlighting Gosling’s ability to maintain authenticity across multiple genres.

Gosling will portray a new character named Kade Auberon. The character's introduction has sparked significant fan speculation, including theories that Auberon may be an ex-Jedi or a character drawing inspiration from the ‘Legends’ expanded universe.
