Ryanair adds eight routes from Gdańsk as Air Arabia delays Modlin service

Ryanair announced that from the end of October it will add two aircraft to its Gdańsk base, expanding the fleet there to six planes and launching eight new routes. The new destinations include Agadir, Porto, Turin, Liverpool, Catania, Budapest, Madrid and Milan‑Malpensa, with tickets expected to start at about 119 zł one‑way. In the winter schedule the airline will also increase seat capacity at Gdańsk by 31 % to 1.3 million seats and plans to carry more than 3 million passengers through the airport in 2027, while raising frequencies on nine existing routes such as Alicante, Edinburgh, Malaga and Malta.

Air Arabia updated its flight programme and removed the Sharjah‑Modlin link from the winter 2026/27 schedule. The route, launched in December 2025, was suspended in February 2026 after an airspace shutdown triggered by a U.S.–Israel attack on Iran. No flights between Sharjah and Modlin are currently for sale, and the carrier has not confirmed whether the suspension will become permanent or be postponed to a later summer season. The loss leaves Modlin without a direct connection to the United Arab Emirates.
