Ryanair flight delayed ten hours on Bologna-Malaga route
Passengers on a Ryanair flight from Bologna to Malaga experienced a ten-hour delay while remaining confined inside the aircraft on August 19. The flight, originally scheduled for 17:00, did not depart until approximately 01:07 on August 20.
Witnesses, including artist Massimo Cedrini, reported that passengers were left with minimal food and almost no water. The prolonged confinement led to significant distress, with reports of three individuals fainting and requiring emergency medical services (118). Passengers expressed frustration, suggesting the airline may have delayed the flight repeatedly to avoid the legal and financial consequences of a formal cancellation.
Ryanair responded to the incident by stating that the delay was caused by “extraordinary bad weather” and conditions that were completely outside of the company’s control.
