Poland advances construction of the 61‑km S52 Beskidzkie Integration Road

Poland is progressing on several major transport infrastructure projects. At Rzeszów‑Jasionka Airport, the second phase of a parallel taxiway (DK‑R4 and DK‑R5) is nearing completion, with system tests underway and final certification by the Civil Aviation Authority expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. The €11 million EU CEF‑Military Mobility grant and over 113 million zł total investment aim to boost airport capacity and safety, according to airport president Adam Hamryszczak.

In the Bieszczady region, works on the Polańczyk‑Wołkowyja stretch of the Small Bieszczady Loop are being modernised to accommodate growing tourist traffic, including widening the road to seven metres and adding bridges and bus bays.

Regional road upgrades include a new pedestrian crossing and sidewalk in Borówno, a 10‑km reconstruction of voivodeship road 442 in Chocz, road repairs in Długołęka, and the modernization of voivodeship road 830 near Lublin, all funded partly by EU sources.

The most extensive undertaking is the Beskidzkie Droga Integracyjna (S52), a 61‑km expressway linking Bielsko‑Biała with Głogoczów. Geological surveys have reached 90 % completion on the Bielsko‑Biała‑Bulowice segment, and night‑time drilling continues near Głogoczów. The project, valued at roughly 29.7 million zł for the geotechnical contract, targets completion by 2032 and will feature 12 junctions and 33 engineering structures.

Additionally, Polish contractor Budimex secured a contract to upgrade a 0.9‑km section of Czech road I/43 near Závist, improving slow‑traffic lanes and pedestrian access.
