Saatvik Green Energy Q4 profit falls 36% amid rising expenses
India's green energy sector showed mixed performance on May 20, with many listed green stocks staying in the green while broader markets remained indecisive due to the ongoing Gulf crisis. Companies such as Alpex Solar and NTPC Green Energy were highlighted for upcoming results, and the June 1 deadline for the ALMM 2 policy extension was noted as a factor supporting resilience in the sector.
In this context, Saatvik Green Energy reported a 36% decline in consolidated net profit for the March quarter, falling to Rs 60.42 crore from Rs 94.71 crore a year earlier. The drop was driven by a sharp rise in total expenses to Rs 1,538.84 crore, up from Rs 790.29 crore, even as total income grew to Rs 1,616.61 crore from Rs 921.95 crore. Over the full fiscal year, the company's net profit increased to Rs 357.11 crore, but the quarterly downturn signals pressure on margins as the sector navigates higher costs and market uncertainty.
