Sacaba: 19-year-old woman killed in 60th Bolivian feminicide of 2026

A 19-year-old woman, Kelly Nicol Jaita Claure, was killed in Sacaba, Cochabamba, marking the 60th reported feminicide in Bolivia for the year 2026. The victim was shot in the head during an argument with her partner, identified as 18-year-old Luis A. R. F., reportedly motivated by jealousy.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 13, at the suspect's residence. Neighbors reported hearing a gunshot and discovered the victim without vital signs. Investigators recovered a .32 caliber revolver, a shell casing, ammunition, and a projectile from the scene.

The suspect was apprehended at the residence and remains in police custody. According to the family's lawyer, the couple had been in a relationship for approximately five years, characterized by periods of instability.
