Italy observes various religious and community celebrations
Various religious and community events are taking place across several Italian regions. In Torre Annunziata, celebrations for the Madonna della Neve include a historical reenactment of the city's 1319 foundation and a concert by singer Francesca Maresca. The local newspaper Metropolis is also releasing a commemorative photographic book to mark the occasion.
In other locations, spiritual milestones are being observed: the Germoglio di Speranza community in Mazara del Vallo inaugurated its 2026-2027 year, while the parishes of Casalmaggiore renewed a historical vow to the Madonna della Fontana. In Gimigliano, the city was officially granted the title of ‘Civitas Mariae’ by Archbishop Claudio Maniago due to its devotion to the Madonna di Porto.
Clergy transitions and anniversaries are also noted, including Don Gaetano Federico’s departure from Cariati to Spezzano Albanese, and Don Angelo Garofalo’s first anniversary of priesthood in Petronà. Additionally, the Madonna del Sacro Monte of Novi Velia has begun a pilgrimage journey through the Cilento territory, starting in Sacco, and the community of Greggio celebrated the feast of the Madonna del Rosario.
