Sachin Tendulkar named greatest batsman by cricket legends

Former cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Ravichandran Ashwin have shared their perspectives on the greatest Indian batsmen in cricket history, with both legends highlighting Sachin Tendulkar.

During a Pakistani television appearance, former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar named Tendulkar as the “greatest of all time,” placing him above other notable players. Akhtar noted that while he admired players like Ricky Ponting and Martin Crowe, he considers Tendulkar to be the premier batter in history.

Similarly, former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin identified his top three Indian Test batters as Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli. Ashwin’s selection placed legendary opener Sunil Gavaskar and VVS Laxman in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
