Cricket legends debate all-time greatest players

Cricket legends and former players have engaged in discussions regarding the greatest players in the history of the sport.

Former Australian bowler Brett Lee distinguished between the best pure batsman and the most complete cricketer, naming Sachin Tendulkar as the best batsman while identifying South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis as the best overall cricketer due to his statistical output in both batting and bowling. Lee noted, “I think the best batsman to ever play the game is Sachin Tendulkar, but the best cricketer, in my opinion, is Jacques Kallis.”

In subsequent discussions, former Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar and former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin both highlighted Tendulkar’s greatness. Akhtar stated, “Sachin has to be the greatest of all time,” noting that while he admired players such as Ricky Ponting and Martin Crowe, he considers Tendulkar to be the premier batter in history.

Ashwin included Tendulkar in his top three ranking of all-time Indian Test batters alongside Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli, placing legendary opener Sunil Gavaskar and VVS Laxman in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
