SADER BC announces bovine genetic improvement incentives

The Baja California Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER BC) has announced incentives to improve bovine genetic quality and livestock productivity. Through the “Calidad BC” 2026 Genetic Livestock Improvement program, producers can access subsidies to acquire bulls during the ExpoGan BC event, held from September 18 to 20 in San Quintín.

The program will cover up to 50 percent of the cost of an animal, with a maximum amount of 25,000 pesos for bulls with genealogical registration and 15,000 pesos for commercial bulls. Eligibility requires one bull for every 20 registered heifers or cows in a Livestock Production Unit (UPP), with a limit of two animals per producer. To qualify, animals must be at least 14 months old and possess a valid fertility test.
