Safari Park Dvůr Králové reports rare animal births

Safari Park Dvůr Králové in the Czech Republic has reported several significant new births, contributing to its status as a major center for animal breeding and conservation.

A female Böhm zebra was born on August 8, 2026. The foal initially displays light, almost blonde-colored stripes, a natural occurrence where melanin gradually darkens the coat over several months. The park has seen an exceptional number of births this year, totaling nearly 450 animals including giraffes, antelopes, and a rare Cape honey badger.

Additionally, the park has successfully bred four blue-winged goose chicks. This species is native only to Ethiopia and is considered very rare in global zoo populations. The breeding program is part of a larger scientific effort to monitor the species and support conservation projects in the wild, helping researchers better understand the life cycles and population status of these birds.
