Safety Day events scheduled in Oude Pekela and Leiderdorp

Multiple municipalities in the Netherlands are hosting Safety Day events in late September to promote public awareness regarding safety, prevention, and emergency services.

In Oude Pekela, the event will take place on September 25, 2026, at the Raadhuisplein. Organized by the municipalities of Pekela, Veendam, and Midden-Groningen, the program includes demonstrations of drug labs, vehicle rollover simulations, forensic investigations, and CPR training. The event will also address online security and provide information on careers within the safety sector.

In Leiderdorp, Safety Day is scheduled for September 26, 2026, near the De Santhorst shopping center. This event features the ‘Brandveilig Leven’ initiative by the Veiligheidsregio Hollands Midden. Activities include interactions with police, ambulance, and fire services, as well as an escape room game for children designed to teach safe evacuation procedures during fires.
