Sagar police seize 3 crore rupees in cash during weapon search

Police in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, seized approximately 3 crore rupees in cash during a raid at the residence of Saurabh Ahirwar, a school bus driver. The investigation was initiated after police monitored social media profiles and identified a post featuring a handgun uploaded by Ahirwar.

While the search for illegal weapons did not yield a firearm, officers discovered a locked cupboard containing bags filled with large quantities of currency. The volume of cash was so significant that a counting machine had to be brought to the scene.

Ahirwar's family claimed the money belonged to a relative named Ramesh Ahirwar from Bhopal, who reportedly left the funds at their house approximately eight months ago. Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania stated that authorities are proceeding with the seizure and will investigate the source of the funds and locate Ramesh Ahirwar.
