Pakistan secured a 4-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the first T20I of a three-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The win marks a successful debut for Sahibzada Farhan, who was appointed as the new T20 captain as part of a squad reset ahead of the 2028 T20 World Cup.

Chasing a target of 183, Pakistan reached 187-6 in 18.5 overs. Farhan led the charge with a match-winning 89 runs off 53 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes. He was supported by Maaz Sadaqat, who scored a brisk 50 off 29 deliveries, and Fakhar Zaman, who contributed 21 runs.
