SailGP opens first permanent training base in Pensacola

SailGP has officially opened its first permanent training base at the American Magic High Performance Center in Pensacola, Florida. The facility is designed to serve as a centralized, year-round ecosystem for the international fleet of F50 catamarans and developing athletes.

The multi-season agreement between SailGP and American Magic runs through 2031. The center utilizes an innovative pay-to-train model, allowing teams to access the facility for specific training blocks outside of scheduled race weekends. This infrastructure aims to accelerate athlete development and strengthen competitive integrity within the global championship.

Emirates GBR is among the first teams to begin off-calendar training at the site. The British team is preparing for the upcoming Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix, utilizing the Pensacola facility to refine communications and playbooks ahead of the championship's final stages.
