Saint-Tropez: Armed robbery targets Brazilian billionaire's villa

A Brazilian billionaire, with an estimated fortune of $1.4 billion, and his family were targeted in a violent armed robbery at a luxury villa in Saint-Tropez during the early hours of July 16.

Four armed men, identified as coming from Marseille, reportedly entered the property using a stolen vehicle. The group used weapons, pepper spray, and signal-blocking devices to neutralize a security guard and enter the residence. Once inside, the assailants threatened the billionaire, his wife, and their two sons, tying them up while searching for cash, jewelry, and luxury items such as prestige watches.

The robbery was interrupted when a member of the household managed to hide in the garden and alert authorities. Gendarmerie officers arrived quickly, leading to the arrest of all four suspects: three were apprehended near the villa, while the fourth was later caught after hiding on a roof. Investigators believe the operation was carefully planned, suggesting the perpetrators had prior knowledge of the family and the location.
