Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Tikhon and Saint Hippolytus

The Serbian Orthodox Church and various religious leaders are observing several significant feast days. Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral celebrated the Holy Archieratic Liturgy at the Celije Piperka Monastery, marking the feast of Saint Hippolytus and Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk. During his sermon, the Metropolitan emphasized the importance of reflecting divine light through one's actions and words.

Believers are also commemorating Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk, an 18th-century Russian bishop and spiritual writer known for his mercy and teachings. Additionally, the Church honors Saint Hippolytus, a Roman prison overseer who converted to Christianity after witnessing miracles performed by Saint Lawrence. Tradition holds that Hippolytus and his entire family faced martyrdom under Emperor Decius for their faith. The feast of Saint Hippolytus is traditionally regarded as a day for families to focus on peace, harmony, and the bonds of love.
