French police seize 749 illegal disposable e‑cigarettes in Saint‑Étienne

Local judicial police in Saint‑Étienne seized 749 disposable electronic cigarettes (puffs) from two city‑centre shops. The operation recovered 653 units on Grand‑Rue and 96 on Rue du 11‑Novembre, worth nearly €10,000. The products are prohibited under a French law passed in February 2025, with penalties up to €100,000.

Police noted the devices pose a health risk, especially to youth, and also confiscated electronic shisha devices containing 6 % nicotine, three times the legal limit. The seized items will be destroyed after approval from the public prosecutor.
